The study was led by Holly J. Dannewitz of the University of North Dakota, as researchers looked at how antidepressants play a role in the driving ability of people. For their study, they had 60 volunteers take part in a driving simulation. They had half take at least one antidepressant, while the others took none. In the driving simulation, they had to perform simple drivings tasks such as braking, following traffic signs, lights, street signs, etc. At the conclusion of the study, they found that those on the antidepressants did far worse, as they lacked concentration, and the ability to control their car. The findings, presented at the American Psychological Association annual meeting in Boston, MA, showed that antidepressant drugs truly impair driving ability. Source: ChattahBox
