Mr. Bennett, who filed his breach-of-contract suit in Cook County Circuit Court in Chicago on Monday, performed with Wilco from 1994 to 2001. He can be heard on its albums “Being There,” “Summerteeth” and “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot,” among others. In the suit, Mr. Bennett says that he received “infrequent partial payments” from the band’s income generated from sales and performances and that he is owed money from “I Am Trying to Break Your Heart,” a do*****entary about the making of the album “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.” The members of Wilco have not responded to the suit.
